Recovering an Old Desktop

When we moved over to Wichita my mom gathered up all my belongings that she didn’t want/need in her house anymore. One of those things was a desk. It was my childhood desk that my mom brilliantly put together. It’s two cabinets from Walmart with their original tops taken off and replaced by a large peace of plywood covered in fabric.

The great news for me was that it was still in great condition and very customizable. So, the day after Christmas I was dying for a project and off to the fabric store I went. It was simple… All I needed was a staple gun and fabric. Oh and a screwdriver to get the old staples out.

Probably needless to say, I love it! I removed the padding on the old top and it looks so sleek and modern now. I cannot wait to fill the drawers and cabinets with all things crafty. The 2nd bedroom has been designated as our “office” and crafty things make a perfect office, right?!
