Problems in perspective...

Do I think I do a good job of keeping problems in perspective? Do I think so??? Does it matter what I think?

Here's how it usually goes....

A problem arises. I start strategizing. I call my husband. Not so much for his OPINION, just to bounce the problem off of him. He is not super bouncy though so mostly I get his opinion on how to solve, fix, forget about or "get over" the problem.

It's a vicious cycle.  Sometimes I wonder if I recorded my husband solving all of the problems if he would be horrified at how he sounds or if he would injure himself patting himself on the back.

Yeah, it's like that.

I do not catastrophize (<-----this is a word..I heard it on TV) problems so there is definitely perspective in that. I can always “imagine” the worst but I don't actually believe that the worst will happen.

Keeping my wits about me in the face of problems is sort of what I do. I remain calm and can get into problem solving mode rather quickly. ON THE OUTSIDE.

Inside I am a wreck. Fully twisted up inside and when the problem is solved or the crisis is averted...I may well collapse into the bed to recover.

So maybe my perspectives are inherently flawed and that if I was more "realistic", I would not have the physical fallout from my calm exterior hiding my chaotic insides?

Who knows?

And who's to say anyway? I have faced some doozies in my life and I am still here. Still able to function in a civilized society while raising 2 pre-teen girls and maintaining a 20+ year marriage that is very happy and fulfilling.

So to answer the prompt and question for today....

Yes. Emphatically YES! I can keep problems in perspective.

From my perspective, my biggest problem is time...and the lack thereof. Oh and the pace at which time seems to be passing.

So far, no solution has been found to change my perspective about time.

But again, that's just from my perspective......
