Bah ha ha ha ha ha!
That's funny because at first, I thought - Yeah, that's so true.
But then I was all - Wait a second, I'm pretty sure I haven't been to the gym since November, I've gained five pounds, and my house is a disaster. Pinterest fail?
I know I said a few posts ago that I didn't bake as much this year. The key words are "AS MUCH." I still cooked and baked and ate. I love to bake. I also love to eat.
So if I'd like to keep fitting into my clothes I often must go on baking strikes. Baking sabatacles, if you will.
Holidays are off limits for baking sabatacles.
I made stuff. And none of it was diet. All of it was anti-diet, in fact.
I discovered Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles after tasting said truffles at a pot luck one year. They were pretty damn magical and I had to get my hands on that recipe.
Then Pinterest happened. The recipe was all mine. Bwa ha ha ha ha!
I found it. I made it. I ate it.
These truffles are excellent, not only because they are literally chocolate covered bites of chocolate chip cookie dough, but also because they're egg free.
Raw eggs in chocolate chip cookie dough have never really been an obstacle for me. But if I want to give these amazing truffles to friends and family, I might consider their health. Maybe.
Anyway, I made these truffles last year and again this year. My teenage boy loves them, so I thought I'd make him me a batch.
When I do any kind of candy coating, I always, always, always use Wilton's Candy Melts. They melt consistently and you can melt in small or large portions. I usually get them at Michael's and sometimes Walmart.
But I was strapped for time so I got the candy coating from the baking isle in the grocery store. Big mistake. I'll never do it again. Wilton's all the way.
Okay, now don't laugh...
Not very pretty. I swear it's the crappy chocolate candy coating and NOT my ability to make these.
Some of them, you'll notice, aren't completely covered. With the last bit of chocolate coating, I usually drizzle the remaining chocolate over the rest of the truffles.
However, because of the crappy coating, it's just a blobby mess.
I will NOT give this to the Pinterest Fail Gods! No, I won't!

And they still taste like heaven so I've eaten more than I should. Teenage boy didn't inhale them like he should have. So what's a girl to do?
Also made some zucchini bread because of our abundance of zuchini, thanks to MOM.
I used this recipe.
You know why I rock this bread? Because I added chocolate chips on top.
And everything is better with chocolate chips.
New Years Day. Detox central. I'm determined to get back on track. Swear.
