Online vs. Offline: Staycation
Staycations a great trend and in most cases needed. Now what does this mean well to me it means you discover your city or a city within driving distance. At this time I am booking my son’s graduation trip as you may know he’s an online student and he is graduation with honors, but we have to travel to Houston which is about a four hour car ride and with gas prices the way they are we must plan to save as much as possible on our stay. So I will be booking a hotel for two days and we will be purchasing a graduation dinner using gift certificates from restaurant.com we should have a $100 mean for about $20 this way to celebrate his graduation. We utilizing our stock pile and packing snacks and drinks for the drive, lunches and night time snacks as well. We will be booking a hotel with a kitchenette so that I can make breakfast and heat lunches. We also plan on renting a vehicle for this drive because we don’t want to wear down our own vehicle traveling since the graduation takes place on a Thursday we will leave Thursday morning and return Friday evening this will save on the rental of the vehicle and the hotel stay. Join your local Groupon, this will give you daily deals and savings in your area and you can change the zip code to check out the area that you will be traveling to and save on deal there as well. You can also save by visiting the website of the local attractions in your hometown and sign up for your city’s visitor bureaus email they will send you discounts to local attractions hotels, and restaurants. You can even see when your local attraction has free or ½ off days they almost always land during the week. So do some web surfing and find your deal today and plan to save on your summer vacation.
