Must-Follow Mondays: Fiction Writers

New authors are often encouraged to start blogging in order to gain exposure and readership. Sometimes, though, authors are bloggers before, during and after their novels enter the world.

It's NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month. Just like NaBloPoMo, it happens in November. In its honor, we're taking a moment to share some fiction writers from the BlogHer Publishing Network we think you should be following.

Ree Drummond

Ree Drummond of The Pioneer Woman is a familiar face in the blogosphere, but did you know she writes children's books, too? The prolific Ree has penned not only a cookbooks and a memoir, but also five children's picture books starring her adorable ranch dog, Charlie.

Melissa Ford

Melissa Ford of Stirrup Queens began her authorial career writing about infertility, but she found her fiction voice with two novels about food blogger Rachel Goldman, Life From Scratch and Measure of Love.

Lori Culwell

Lori Culwell of Funny Strange sold her self-published first novel, Hollywood Car Wash to Simon & Schuster after it sold so well. She recently released a young adult novel, The Dirt and also writes marketing and business books, including books about how to sell books.

Meg Waite Clayton

Meg Waite Clayton of 1st Books has a storied career as a novelist. She's the New York Times -bestselling author of four novels: The Four Ms. Bradwells, The Wednesday Sisters, The Language of Light and The Wednesday Daughters.

Rita Arens

BlogHer Deputy Editor Rita Arens is no stranger to books: She edited Sleep Is For The Weak and co-edited Roots: Where Food Comes From and Where It Takes Us, all in a day's work. But in her copious spare time (ahem), she's a fiction writer who debuted her first YA novel, The Obvious Game, in 2013.
