Morning Glories

I was stopped in traffic.  Shocking, I know.

In a drainage ditch, a patch of beautiful morning glories.  Right there…..8 blooms.  All open.  In a nasty rain run-off ditch on I-65 South.

Flourishing.

I smiled.  Yep, I did.  Those beautiful flowers opened wide on a nice cool morning.  Reaching for the sun.  Happy flowers.

Didn’t matter they are on a busy road.
Didn’t matter they get the hot sun from the asphalt.
Didn’t matter they get nasty transportation fumes in their petals.
Didn’t matter that it hasn’t really rained much.
Didn’t matter they get splatter from road funk.
Didn’t matter they weren’t in a yard in a beautiful house.

Didn’t matter.

They still flourished.  They still breathe.

No matter what.

No.  Matter.  What.

I just smiled and smiled at those morning glories.

Why?

Because I’m flourishing.  My boys are flourishing.  No matter what.

Love,
Hatefully Blooming
