Monday/Weekend Wrap-Up, Call The Midwife & Game of Thrones

-Mother's Day was good. I'm not a mom to a human, so it's not quite the same. I'm also not big on celebrating days. To me it's about how you treat people throughout the year. Flowers, breakfast, dinner, for my mom, the usual. Then we watched the original, Guess Who's Coming To Dinner, along with the shows mentioned below. What a cheesy movie, I forgot how bad it was. How was Mother's Day for those celebrating this past Sunday?

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA-My planting is halted for now. There was a bit of snow on Sunday, along with strong winds, rain, clouds and intermittent sun. We got pretty much every weather pattern, in one day. I had to bring in my green onions and coriander because it was starting to frost at night. Within a couple of days of coming inside my coriander popped through the soil, so obviously they are not cool weather herbs. Duh. The rest of the plants probably won't go outside for another 2 weeks or so. I have no desire to bring in plants every single night, in fear of frost.

-My back is still a hot mess. 13/10 on my pain scale, for more then a week. I hope to be able to save up for the chiropractor soon. It's so expensive in my city for one piddly little visit. I still can't get over the price difference from when I lived in Windsor, to where I live now. I know massage therapists, chiropractors, alternative practitioners, in general have higher prices because they are entrepreneurs, but damn! If they are good and they have competitive prices they will get more business. I guess it doesn't help that our health care, even some extended plans do not pay for any or even a portion of many of these services any longer. Many people bust their ass, on their feet, 60+ hours a week and still can't afford to get a massage or an adjustment that they desperately need. Something is wrong with that. I've been there, done that and it sucks balls.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

-Call the Midwife (Season 2, Episode 7. Check your local listings for times & where to watch.) was great last night. It was nice to see the dynamics and racial tensions in the UK, back in the 50's. I don't know what that accent was, that the black lady was trying to pull off. I just heard accent muddle and I'm pretty good with picking out accents. With all of those actors with West Indian parentage over seas, you'd think the casting directors would have done a better job. That was the only disappointment of the show for me.

-So glad that Chummy is back & pregnant. I wonder if she's going to work after the baby is born? Probably not considering the time and the fact that her husband has a good job, being a police officer.

-Game of Thrones (Season 3, Episode 7, "The Bear and the Maiden Fair". Check your local listings for times & where to watch.) was awesome!

-I'm loving the episodes, but I'm still irritated by the Theon/torture storyline. Now his tormentor is going to cut off Theon's junk? Irritated!

-I love seeing that the dragons are getting bigger and they are so protective of their mother, Daenerys. She is getting so bold, as time goes on. Does she think it's realistic to go across the world freeing all of the captive people? It's a great idea but someone is going to come for her neck, taking away all of their free labour.

-I love that the only person that Joffrey is afraid of is his grandfather, Tywin Lannister. I wish he was around more to keep Joffrey in line. That entire scene made me chuckle.

-I was proud that Jaime went back to rescue Brienne. The remainder of her existence would have been miserable. Well, if the bear didn't finish her off. I wonder if Jaime is going to forget about his sister, now that he is developing feelings for Brienne? Should be interesting to see how the story develops.

-I thought Arya had more sense then her sister Sansa, but after running off from the Brotherhood, in the dark, she's as senseless as her sister.

Have a great Monday & week!

Till next time,
