The iPhone is celebrating it’s 10 year anniversary this year and in this decade, we have experienced substantial growth in the application development industry. It seems that we are moving in a direction where we cannot be without iPhones in the world, and we have become very dependent on the useful applications we have been exposed to during this time. 2018 is pushing forward into a world of artificial intelligence, and we expect to see lots of things change for app development during this time. Here are the biggest trends for 2018.

Cloud Computing:

Physical device storage has been an issue for many mobile phone users since the conception of the first smartphone. Why is it the case that mobile phones now have excellent quality cameras, but no storage to keep their images on their devices? This has been a frustration that has been around for a long time, and 2018 is the year that this is set to be fixed and improved for the better. App developers are moving towards an era where cloud storage is a resource for them to play around with. It’s now becoming possible for app development companies to function like large operations, thanks to security and storage like the Amazon Web Services.

Voice Revolution:

It will not be long before we are speaking and interacting with our devices, as opposed to typing on them. Voice recognition is a key factor that is being toyed around within the next few years. Devices such as the Amazon Alexa are making it easier than ever to access information. This technology stems from Siri, the original voice interactive system.

Artificial Intelligence:

More and more companies are using their resources and are turning to AI to deal with any customer service matters. It’s plain to see that our devices are becoming more receptive, or more intelligent, because of this, things like shopping lists and online banking management could become a thing of the past. Applications and mobile app development processes are going to be affected by the direction that technology is moving in. An intelligent device will help applications to personalise the user experience based on what they learn about the user. This is something that will become much more refined and in tune as AI technology becomes more succinct.
