Make Your Own Cleaning Supplies

Wouldn't it be nice if you could save money and know exactly what is in your cleaning products? Here are a few tips on how to create child-safe and pet-safe cleaning products and methods for your home.

Clean your microwave:

To get rid of the odors that may be plaguing your microwave, fill a microwaveable bowl with water and half of a lemon and microwave for 5 minutes.

To clean out your microwave, use the vinegar mix to scrub.

To remove stains in your microwave, you could also try sprinkling baking soda onto spills and food particles, leave for a few minutes and start scrubbing.

To clean your laundry:

Instead of using fabric softener, use 1/2 a cup of vinegar during the rinse cycle and voila! Softer clothes for half the price! There won't be a smell since it will go away as it dries. This is also a great solution for those who have sensitive skin.

Make your own bathroom scrubber solution:

Mix 1 tablespoon liquid detergent, 1/4 cup baking soda and add 1/2 cup of vinegar to make a thick liquid and now you have your very own bathroom cleaner secret agent to use in your bathroom!

Looking for shampoo?:

Baking soda is also great for this. This will clarify (deep cleanse) your hair, it lacks the soapy suds you may be used to but it cleans your hair more thoroughly than shampoo.

Wash your washer machine:

Washer machines need to be deodorized too so don't forget to sprinkle baking soda into your washer and then let it run through a cycle to get the best cleanse. It can also remove any crayon, candy, and marker stains left over by items left in your pockets, etc.
