I hadn't had my Bug in 2 weeks and missed her face and I'm pretty sure she missed mine too because when she got here this morning she was super mouth-open-hands-out happy to see me. I could stop there, because it was that good. But I won't.
Anticipating today's 4th swim lesson of 8, I went on the hunt yesterday for a cheap & benign one-piece bathing suit. TJ, Kohls, Target and grrrrrrrrr...Walmart. Nothing. Another 2 hours wasted. Fine, no big deal, there are bigger problems to have. So I resorted to what all the other moms do and decided to simply wear a tank top over the black string bikini. Problem solved.
So we killed 2 hours in the morning before she fell asleep at 10am (she knew full well we had to leave at 10:30). Grandpa got over at 10:30 and Jeremy got home at the same time with the dogs. No one, esp me, likes to wake up a baby from a nap, but I did it with as much gentleness as possible while Maggie the 110lb dog-baby leapt around the house in utter excitement to see the baby and grandpa.
Today Grandpa and Jeremy came with for swim lessons. So we all loaded into the 2 door because that's where the babyseat is and headed to the pool. It went great, uneventful really - they were sitting on the side with phones in hand, snapping a bunch of pictures, me and bug were singing in the pool and playing the hokey pokey. She hit a milestone today when she got her face intentionally dunked under water -- heart breaking and hilarious all at the same time. She cried instantly but recovered quickly. Afterwards it was like an amazing gift to have 2 extra set of hands -- so yes, it officially takes 6 hands to efficiently remove wet diaper and suit, soothe, distract and dress baby and occupy her while Tia changes.
She was asleep within a half an hour of getting home and slept for 3 straight hours.
Easy Peasy. I think we'll do it again next week.
