When God has his hands on you and trouble beseech you in attempt to destroy your ministry, something in your spirit will not let you give in to it. The Word still will go forth because God will see to it.
The devil was alive and well during my trip home. He came at me from every angle and wouldn’t leave me alone. I went to God in deep meditation. I didn’t murmur a word. I sat and read God’s Word. I shared what He sent as a message for others to hear. The devil came at me full force. God took it from there.
For a moment, I became so frustrated and at that time made a hasty decision to stop ministering and witnessing to others on social media because I felt it was taking too much from my inner strength to deal with the conflict that continually surrounded me. All I wanted was peace. When in a fact, I did have peace. But my mind tried to convince me otherwise. The devil is the father of lies!
I told my friends and family, “I will be taking a sabbatical…in the next few days but wanted to express my sincere thanks to friends and family who have supported me in this journey. My hope is that God will continue to use me no matter where I may find myself that he may be glorified. I will keep each and every one of you in prayer and please continue to pray for me.”
A few days passed and something just would not let me go through with it. Knowing God had the final say in it. The Word still will go forth because God will see to it. This is what the devil wanted, to silence me. And thought he would win. I’m being set up for a greater blessing. Sorry devil… God wins! While I will not stop spreading the gospel or bring forth messages of inspiration and encouragement I know God has given me the ability to do. I will minimize my presence for the moment to spend some alone time with God, as he continues to reconcile and restore me. Until then, what I know is this:
God is loving, kind, merciful. He does not falter. He is perfect. Every good and perfect thing comes from Him. He is, “I AM WHO I AM” (Ex 3:14). People may disappoint you. They may never have your best interest at heart. God loves you. He will always have your best interest at heart. God is a good God. He’s faithful. His character does not change. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Heb 13:8). He never changes.
When you feel lost in a sea of brokenness, God will heal your wounds and restore you. God will bind up your wounds. He will heal your heart. Speak life into your situation that it may help you. People or the situation may never change but you can change in it. With God, he will change you in it. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act (Ps 37:4-5).
When you are going through and it seems like no one is there for you. God is. He will never forsake you. He’s always with you. There is someone somewhere fighting a battle harder than you or me. They are in a fight for their life, trying to make it. Pray for them. It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed (Dt 31:8). Know that God is with you always.
If the devil is picking on you, rejoice! God is setting you up for a greater reward!
Be blessed! -JD
Luke 6:22-23 “22 You are blessed when people hate you, when they exclude you, insult you, and slander your name as evil because of the Son of Man23 Rejoice in that day and leap for joy! Take note–your reward is great in heaven, for this is the way their ancestors used to treat the prophets.” (HCSB)
