As he descended the down the stairs and entered the dining room where my husband, Marc and I were sitting, the man who was installing the new compressor for our air-conditioning unit asked, “Excuse me? Do you have a band aid?”

“Sure,” Marc replied.  “What happened?  Did you hurt yourself?”

“Yeah… I cut myself.  I can’t make it through a day without an injury.”  As he placed the bandage on his arm, he continued. “Just yesterday I burnt my other arm and gave myself a blister while working with Freon.”

“At least you have a dangerous job,” I replied.  I held up to show him my arm that was covered with Band-Aids from my nasty encounter with hamper door. “I also hurt myself daily, and I don’t have a dangerous job.”

I think he may have misunderstood me because he asked, “Why?  What do you do?”

And I told the truth.  “I am just a klutz!”
