Being a business owner means that you are in direct competition with everyone other business, and as harsh as it sounds, your survival may mean beating them. In 2017, there are hundreds of different things to consider when you are a business owner, and you will know that there are hundreds of different platforms to compete against, including the online world. It’s important to make sure that you are clued up and have a flexible, competent strategy. Here are some tips to get you in front of your competition. 

Networking:

Networking makes up the very foundation of business, if you want to get ahead of the game, then you have to put yourselves in the path of your potential clients and customers. Putting a face to the name can help to build up brand awareness and respect for the company. Networking is the perfect way to get the most out of your business and to find out how well your competitors are doing, which also means poaching any good ideas they may have. Remember, take a lot, give a little away.  

Merchandise:

Everybody loves free stuff, it’s the perfect way to get their attention and to make them think fondly of your business. If you are giving out merchandise it can be as simple a gesture as giving out a free much or even some bespoke lanyards. This will help to set your brand aside from the rest of your competitors.

Online Marketing:

It would be a mistake to ignore the online world if you are a business owner in 2017. There is a whole host of new clients and customers in the online world that are waiting to purchase from you. Online marketing makes sure that your website gets in front of the right people at the right time, for example if you sell umbrellas and somebody searches for umbrellas online, then online marketing will help to get your website appearing at the top of the search engine.
