Have you looked at your Google rankings lately? Are you happy with them?
I did yesterday and got the shock of my life! Well, almost. ;)My site's #1 out of 406 million sites when you search "Social Media Design!!!"
Kinda feels like getting an A+ from a tough Professor in school. How did this happen?
I'm no SEO genius, guru, black arts practitioner, or hard core geek. I don't do sneaky or illegal stuff, or pay somebody to do something fancy for me. Never have.
So how does this happen for little ole me and more importantly, how can it happen for YOU?
Here's how:Create a meaningful, distinct name
When I started Social Media Design in January of 2010, I struggled for a name to describe what I did. Few people were designing web sites with social strategy as their focus. It was usually an after thought to great design. Now it's become a common search term. I was ahead of the curve by instinct and moved on it. You can too by how you approach your subject. I can help you brainstorm with this if you need it.Write (almost) daily
It's true that posting more often and tagging your content thoughtfully gets you more love from the search engines. I don't make the rules, but this is definitely how they're written!Engage in Social Media
Enjoy and appreciate the people around you online and things will open up for you like you wouldn't believe. With Google's new algorithms, it's finally become absolutely critical in order to preserve your rankings. The more you are a positive, authentic voice, the more Google rewards you. Canned messages and fake accounts will no longer be tolerated. If you're fresh this is great, great news for you.Want to know more?
I in the process of building a site for The Social SEO and we're gearing up fast to give a detailed webinar that addresses the huge new changes in Google's ranking system. If you're aware, it's GREAT news that you can use to shoot you to the top of your search terms like Elaine Biss, Dior designer at the top of her niches, and me. Top out of 406 million sites. Pinch me!! :DHappy Saturday!!!!!
Any sassy plans? ;)
