Summer is almost here and the signs are everywhere. It prompts many memories of idyllic summers spent in my small rural town (Warwick) in upstate New York. My sisters and I would catch frogs and tadpoles down at the creek, and we didn't wear shoes from June through the end of August. I think we were channeling Tom Sawyer. Do kids still have summers like that, or have they all been packed off to science and musical theater camps?
What are the signs that summer is coming to your home town? Are you heading off to the beach? Does the smell of Coppertone make you want to swoon? Are you ready to take it easy with some backyard BBQ? Does anyone still have fireflies? We want to hear it all on this week's opinion poll. Tell us where you live and what summer is like in your part of the world.
