I’m a firm believer in work hard, play hard(er) and this weekend I did just that. As promised in ‘Say Yes‘ I attended a housewarming party for one of my girlfriends. There, I got the opportunity to catch up with her and a few others who I saw at the event. I even found out that a friend of mine is one of the managers at Frank Ski’s Restaurant. I’ve heard nothing but good things about the place and I can’t wait to check it out.
I also had the opportunity to go to Divan Restaurant & Hookah Lounge
. First let me say that I am NOT a smoker but, I’ve been dying to go to a hookah bar. This weekend I finally got the opportunity to go. I was super excited because it’s the first time the Mr. and I have been out without the baby and because I wanted to experience hookah first hand. Divian is located on Piedmont near Fogo de Chao. It’s a small, intimate spot with low lighting and a mixed crowd. You would think the place is stinks of smoke but it doesn’t. There is no funny smell or thick cloud of smoke. If I didn’t see the people smoking I wouldn’t have known smoking was allowed. We sat upstairs near the fireplace and watched others smoke so we would know what to do. The process is really simple and our waitress was kind enough to answer any questions we had (to inhale or not). She recommended a flavor that wasn’t on the menu (blueberry mint) and we were eager to try it. I feel like an addict for saying this but…after the first hit I was hooked. It’s nothing like cigarettes or cigars. Hookah has a light cool feeling. It’s like smoking flavored water vapor but you get a little buzz from it. We got our rotation down, puff puff pass, and are officially tookah’d on a feeling. I can’t wait to go back!!!
Have you wanted to or tried hookah? If so, what was your experience and what flavors do you like?
