Happy Hour at Havana Central in Times Square

5 years ago

I first learned of Havana Central several years ago when I was working for Fox News. We went there several times for happy hour, but I hadn't been back in at least two years until yesterday.

We went there because they have a fabulous happy hour: $6 mojitos, $7 sangrias, $6 margaritas, $4 beers and $5 house wine, Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Yes, that's still a little expensive, but it's New York City, and more importantly it's Time Square. Those are the prices.

But, the thing that makes this Havana Central different when it comes to their drinks, is that at least in my experience, they're always made very well and taste perfect. Mojitos come in a variety of tropical flavors listed on one of three chalk vertical chalk boards high above the bar. {The other two list their appetizer samples and beer selection.}

I always order their sangria, because it's not too sweet, they go down very easy, and they quickly wash away the work-place stress. {I could do without the stirrer}
