One year ago we launched BlogHer Book Club. When we launched Book Club we were hoping that all of you loved not only reading books but also discussing them as much as we do. I think it is now safe to say that you do! Thanks to our sponsor, Penguin Group (USA), we have provided more than 500 individual BlogHer reviewers with 25 different Penguin titles. People reporting on the demise of the book have clearly not met the BlogHer Community.
When people find out that I am the BlogHer Book Club host, frequently the first thing they say is that we must read women's fiction. I reply that we do. I continue and say that we also read memoirs, mysteries, historical fiction, young adult fiction and manifestos on how to revolutionize the school lunch system. We have become enthralled in a story about witches and vampires. We have read books about love and have fallen so deeply in love with characters that it hurt when the book ended.

But most of all, we've used these stories as an opportunity to share our own stories. We've shared our own happiness, histories, and wonder about the world in our Book Club discussions. The act of reading a book may be a solitary experience, but through our reviews and discussions we have had a truly social experience with these books.
We'd love to hear which of BlogHer Book Club books you have enjoyed the most. If you are like me and find it impossible to choose just one book, don't worry! You can vote more than once! This poll will close on April 30, 2012.
