Do You Love Cookies? Double Tree by Hilton Does TOO!

Food and travel go together like cookies and milk as I recently experienced during a trip to The Big Apple when I stayed at a DoubleTree by Hilton. It also reminded me that the brand has some really clever and creative programming and stay packages taking place right now – particularly for the upscale hotel segment.

First up, my most recent stay . . .

During the trip, I had a two-night stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Metropolitan - New York City while I was in town for a family celebration earlier this month. As always, I loved my warm DoubleTree Cookie welcome which, by the way, they give away 75,000 of each day. I also enjoyed the 24-hour fitness center – which is large and has all of the best equipment. Just as wonderful, it is right next to the #6 subway stop and walking distance from Broadway. There really isn’t any better location to easily access the best that Manhattan has to offer – particularly in Midtown. I was a big fan of the hotel and, while I didn’t have a chance to visit the Met Bar during my stay, it was lively and looked like a great place to unwind with a cocktail . . . or two.

Speaking of cocktails – and cookie cocktails! . . .

DoubleTree by Hilton recently launched their first-ever global Cook(ie)book in honor of reaching their 500thhotel milestone. Featuring 33 recipes spanning 16 countries, the free (yes FREE) cook(ie)book has some great recipes all made with, of course, the brand’s signature, warm DoubleTree Cookie. I personally am on the prowl to try and do 50 new things before I turn 50, and very much look forward to trying some of these recipes as part of that challenge to myself. Each recipe contains the warm DoubleTree Cookie that reflects the distinct flavors and regions of the brand’s now 500+ hotels.

So, what type of recipes will you find? Milkshakes from South Africa, Moon Pies from Memphis and a coconut-rum inspired Cookie Cocktail from Fiji just to name a few. The digital cookbook, ‘We Have Cookies: Taste the World of DoubleTree by Hilton,’ is available for anyone to download at

As Dianna Vaughan, senior vice president and global head, DoubleTree by Hilton, said . . . “From the Tex-Mex-inspired DoubleTree Cookie Taco at DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Austin to the DoubleTree Cookie-crusted rack of lamb at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Sukhumvit Bangkok, there’s no shortage in creativity in this recipe collection.” I had the pleasure of meeting Dianna Vaughan in South Florida and Dallas a couple of years back when she was Global Head of Curio Collection by Hilton, and it’s been fun to see her put her mark on this fast-growing brand in fun & creative ways like with this cook(ie)book.

Did someone say rum AND a private tropical island?

Fiji Family Escape DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Fiji - Sonaisali Island

As someone who enjoys a rum cocktail every now and then, I’m most excited to try the DoubleTree Fijian Cookie Flip. Even more exciting than that cocktail (if you’re one of the lucky few who has thousand dollars to spare) you can rent out the entire Sonaisali Island (home to the resort) for your exclusive and private use. As part of this newly-debuted Full Island Experience package, you can enjoy all that the 4-star resort has to offer for themselves . . . or invite up to 238 of your best friends. Pricing is FJD $75,000 per night ($37,000 USD). Can’t afford the $37,000 per night tab? No problem. Invite up to 238 of your best friends and it averages out to just $155 USD per night per person. I gotta say, that sure would make for a memorable wedding! As part of the package, you’ll enjoy:

Fiji Family Escape DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Fiji - Sonaisali Island Tavu
  • Enjoy daily buffet breakfast, two-course lunch at Vulani restaurant and three-course dinner at Vulani or Tavu restaurant.
  • Participate in a beachside dinner on one of the nights, complete with sunset cocktails.
  • Be welcomed with a traditional welcome warrior dance, along with a signature warm DoubleTree Cookie for all guests.

Thank you to DoubleTree by Hilton for recently hosting me in New York City! I really do love cookies, and am available to test out the DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Fiji . . . wink wink. Looking forward to seeing what DoubleTree by Hilton has in store next!
