I remember watching Beauty and The Beast over and over again when my two girls were three and four years old. I was pregnant with my twin boys and pretty much on bed rest. The three of us enjoyed watching Beauty and The Beast, singing the songs and the girls liked acting out the parts. My youngest girl - who was very petite would play Belle and her sister who was more of a tom-boy would play the part of The Beast. That movie - and the songs from that movie - to this day bring back great memories.
Walt Disney fans of all generations are sure to be delighted listening to their favorite musical moments on these four volumes, which include Disney Modern Classics, Disney Timeless Classics, Disney Theme Park Classics and Disney Television Classics. The compilation of the music was done by Randy Thornton, who is Disney Music Group’s resident music historian and Grammy®-winning producer.
Thornton said, “From the Studio’s earliest days, music has always been an integral part of the Disney creative process. But when “Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf” debuted in 1933, it began a musical legacy that remains unmatched to this day – probably the most recognizable and beloved song catalog in the world. Even though the musical styles range from inspiring ballads, novelty songs, folk, rock, to Broadway showtunes, Disney Music is a genre in and of itself."
The all-new “Disney Classics Medley” (featuring songs from “The Lion King,” “Aladdin,” “Pocahontas,” “The Little Mermaid” and “Beauty and the Beast”) performed by YouTube a capella sensations Alex G and Peter Hollens, will be available as a free download when the box set is pre-ordered at iTunes and Amazon. Alex G and Peter perform covers of songs using only the sounds of their voices and have over 100+ million views combined. The music video debuted on Alex G’s YouTube Channel. In less than 24 hours, it garnered over 568,000 views.
