… listening to: the new food dehydrator. No, seriously. I am listening to the soothing sounds of eighty peaches shriveling up under the gentle 135 degree air circulating in our new Nesco food dehydrator and jerky maker.
… wondering about: what to do with eighty dehydrated peaches. Other than store them inside a ziploc baggie in the pantry. I really don't know what to do with all of these dried peaches. Peach muffins? Peach trail mix? Fruitcake starring only peaches? I really have no idea … is now a good time to mention that I really do not care for dried peaches? It feels like the right time to drop that nugget.
… watching: The Real Housewives of Orange County. I know. I know. The last episode (the third and final part of the reunion show) is queued up on my DVR and then I'm done with the Housewives forever. Okay, fine. I'm done until next season.
… reading: The Smart One by Jennifer Close. Not sure if I like it yet, but it's an easy read and I'm okay with that because I've been taxing my brain watching informative and mind shaping television. Obviously.
… eating: Peaches (the non-dried variety) and pico de gallo. But not at the same meal because that? Right there? Spells disaster for my delicate constitution.
… instagramming: My nephew's first high school football game in which he announced after the game that on one tackle, he did a flip in the air and farted because "it's really hard to clench in mid-air". Good to know.
… excited for: Labor Day weekend. Sure, I love all the cookouts I'll be hosting or attending, but what I'm really loving is the chance to unload peaches (of the both dried and fresh picked variety) onto unsuspecting cookout goers.
… googling: Recipes for peach brandy. Seriously, people. I've got to do something with all of these peaches.
