Our faith grows when we make the choice to believe God’s word over our surrounding. We need to learn to Consider Not our circumstances.
We read it…. Memorize it…..Say it…. But do we live it out?
Far too often I look at the circumstances around me then feel down because I can’t see the answer to my pray… What is wrong with ME? Why aren’t I getting my prayers answered!
Well that is the Problem. I look around….. I am not walking by Faith- I am walking by what I can see!
Our walk of Faith is not what is around us but on what God’s word declares to us. If we want the same faith Abraham had, then we need to walk like he did- He Considered Not. He didn’t think about it, He didn’t google it, or go to his friends to get their perspective, he didn’t make a list of pro’s and con’s. Abraham only believed what God had spoken; that he would be a Father and that of many Nations.
It is hard to turn off years of being moved by our senses or being practical about life. We are taught to be sensible, figure things out, and be logical. But faith is far from reasonable. Faith is unseen and often doesn’t make sense. But it is faith that pleases God and Abraham was counted as in right standing with God because of his faith. Abraham believed and considered not.
If I want to live the same as Abraham, in faith, in righteousness and in blessing,, it is up to me what I focus on or what I consider…. Do I continue to consider the things of the world or do I focus on what God has spoken? It is a daily choice.
Today, I am choosing to consider not…. What about you?
And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
