Chickens Have Come Home to Roost

The Chronicles of a WannaBe Farmer but Never a Butcher!

Chickens have once-again come home to roost. Today we are the proud owners of five, only 5-days old, pullets: three Ameraucanas—each is a different color: dark-brown, burnt-orange, gold & tan, making them easy to tell apart—and two Barred Plymouth Rocks, rather difficult to tell apart.

Perhaps we should have waited until the chicken coop was finished? But that’s easier said than done. Like little children, we are much too excited and therefore altogether impatient. (Neither one is able to talk the other out of this.)

Must have, must have....now, now, now!

We dream a life to be; we live to dream that life! (vka)
