I don’t know if it has to do with the fact that Lily is out of school and we are now in summer mode, or if somehow my Reboot has worked to reset my mindset, too… but I am finding myself relishing simple things in my life today. I relished the 1/2 hour that Bryan and I took to go to Farmer’s Market this afternoon, and I relished the 1/2 hour I got to spend at the gym this morning.
But what really jumped out at me when I read this question, is I am relishing seeing Lily become bonded to her new kitten, Mittens. Mittens is a replacement kitty (sad but true.) Her other cat, Fluffy, disappeared about 2 weeks ago, and we were just getting used to the idea that she was not coming back. I had to stop at the local pet store to pick up a few supplies for the gecko, and learned that they had 3 litters of kittens in the house. It was too hard to walk away once I saw their little faces.
And now, after seeing Lily in her bliss with her new friend, I am happy for the choice we made to bring the new little being home. I am relishing these moments of Lily’s youth – of a seven year old summer and the joy of a new pet in her eyes!
