Building Conscious Relationships in the workplace?

My blog today is about building conscious relationships in the workplace. What does a conscious relation look like? How is it different than an unconscious one? My belief is that a conscious work colleague is one that I can: give and receive feedback, share thoughts and beliefs, co-create with them on projects all in a fun environment.

How many conscious relationships do you have - one, two, three? What is your definition of a conscious relationship? How important is it for you to surround yourself with consciously aware team members? And, do you have a belief that you cannot have friends at work?

Here are a series of questions to see what conscious behaviors you are committed to:

1      How often do you ask for feedback? How open are you to receiving feedback? Do you only like to ask your boss for feedback?

2      Have you been or would you be fully honest when participating in a team member 360 assessment or performance review?

3      Have you shared what you are most passionate about with at least one of your colleagues?

4      Are you willing and open to be influenced by those you work with?

5      What do you do to promote fun and laughter at work?

These areas are a great start to create conscious connections, build trust and ultimately high performing teams.
