#BlogHerTalks Serves Up a Delicious Discussion of Food Blogging

UPDATE 5/21/13: Due to current events in Oklahoma, this chat has been postponed to 5/24/13 from 2p-3p Eastern/11a-12p Pacific.

Food connects us, it's part of our culture, and our heritage; it brings back memories of nightly dinners, visits to grandma's house, wedding days, first dates, and last meals. By sharing their stories, their recipes, and their passion, food bloggers help us create our own special moments and that's what BlogHer Food '13 is all about.

I once posted on my blog about the beginning of my food career and how, in the seventh grade, I was in a stage production of Oliver! I acted in the pub scene, where I pumped a beer stein back and forth while singing, “Oom Pa Pa” with an ensemble. That is where they put you when you can’t sing; they make you be part of a group and pretend you’re a heavy drinker.

I've come a long way, baby.

Fast forward 30 years (ouch!) and you won't find me in any musicals, but you will frequently see me in my kitchen, and I might even be singing. Oliver was right about one thing; food is "glorious" and not only is it part of our every day lives, but it is there for every special occasion as well.
