"BLOGGING - Is it a TASK or CONNECTION"
“The difference between the right word and the almost right word is the difference between lightning and a lightning bug.”
Rightly said by someone who truly knew the importance of influential writing…
Do you fantasize to be known as a great writer rather than just a writer?
In today’s technology freak world, everyone is an active user of online media to connect to other people and spread their word.
Some time ago, I also started to remain CONNECTED through my online posts. Every time I write, I make sure that I read it aloud several times so as to feel how a reader will connect to me through my posts. Or, will he ignore it just like any other article…. My priority is always to make it appealing and in sync with the reader’s mind and choice.
According to me, anyone who has the power of imagination can write. You just need to leave the approach of self doubt to let your creativity come out of the shell. I try to be someone instead of no one.
Considering all the factors, I have accumulated some elementary, but very crucial points to be considered to leave an imprint on the minds of the people.
I. READ AND READ – Anything you like, just read it. Understand how it was written. What are the factors you like the most about that write up! If you do not get the essence of it initially, begin it afresh. Master the art by getting to the depth of the matter. Once you are done with reading, and you know what your interests are, try to put them down in writing. Then only you will make out whether it’s worth keeping or it should be thrown out of window.
II. CONNECT TO THE READERS – “No tears in the writer, no tears in the reader. No surprise in the writer, no surprise in the reader.” Write what you would love to read and not what others are following.
III. ATTRACT – The most challenging task for you would be to attract readers to read your work. So think of a striking topic which will compel them to open your blog. And once they open it, make the content so engaging that they do not leave it without reading and commenting on it.
IV. TAKE RISKS – “We have to continually be jumping off the cliffs and developing our wings on the way down.” The scariest moment is always just before you start. Hence, take risks and open up the parachute of your ideas and let the LIKES follow you automatically.
V. FOLLOW YOUR INSTINCTS – It’s a big world and you will interact with numerous people who will give you all sorts of recommendations. Just do not follow them blindly. Write about what you truly believe in. If you don’t write something you like, no one else will like it either.
VI. BE PRECISE – Never use two words when one will do. The most precious talent is to present your views in as less words as possible. Wind it up brief and don’t make a tedious task to read.
VII. BE SIMPLE – Please avoid using jargon of long and unpronounceable words. By applying this strategy you tend to lose out on your audience. Express yourself with most appropriate words.
VIII. COMMUNICATE – Ask questions. Let them think, how they would have reacted to a certain situation if they were in your place. It will create a bonding between two of you.
So next time you are getting ready to open your blog, follow above points and if it would prove constructive for you in any way, my half work is done.
