Being Fashionably Thrifty, Online

If you are like me, shopping online has become quite the norm.  From birthdays to holidays, the ease of shopping in the comfort of your home, and in your jammies is lovely.  The newest trend is thrift stores posting its inventory online – I swear I never saw this coming.  You can find Goodwill and Salvation Army like stores – but the best of all are those selling just luxury and high end pieces.  Yes, that is correct – Louis Vuitton, Manolo Blahnik, Michael Kors, Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, Prada, Stella McCarthy, Christian Louboutin – I could go on for days!  Many of the sites I have found, and bought from, have merchandise that has never been worn – brand new of the box; many from the current season or last season, and some older.  But if you are following the trends, one thing you will notice is that individuality is the key, so if you are rocking that coach bag from the 80’s you are styling!

Some of these sites have a charitable cause attached, while others don’t.   Some of you reading this might wonder “couldn’t I just do this on ebay?”  Well of course you could, but the key to these sites is that you become a part of an online community that shares your fashionably interests – and isn’t that what social media is about anyhow?

Here are my two favorites!

  1. Bib and Tuck – It’s like picking out of your friends’ personal closets—and those of other stylish women around the world.
  2. Poshmark – Connects you to people whose style you adore, allowing you to shop their closets.

See you online!
