Spring Crafternoon

This weekend I hosted my first Spring Crafternoon!!! We had so much fun!  I got the idea for this craft from a beautiful spring plaque I saw on House of Smith's blog.  She walks through step by step on how to make the full project but for my crafternoon I though we should just start out with the wreath and if we're ambitious then we'll try the full plaque.  (Spoiler: Barely made it through the wreath, so probably not going to make the full plaque this time =) ) I purchased a number of these hard green Styrofoam/plastic wreaths from Michael's along with a variety of spring colored crepe paper rolls.

And we started in.  We cut pieces of crepe paper approximately 2 feet long, crumbled each, and then to roll into flowers.  It was fun because each person rolled their flowers different which made for a good variety of wreaths.

The key we found to making the best flowers was WINE!  Then you don't really care how they turned out =) After a number of flowers were made we then started to hot glue the flowers onto the wreath.  The came together really great and the variety of colors were fantastic.

Big surprise here, but I chose hot pink!  At the end, we then hot glued a piece of ribbon about 10-12 inches long to the back and pinned for extra support and VOILA!  The finished product!
