Seeing Double in the Bedroom: Twin Beds

Designing bedrooms are so much fun, especially when designing homes that have several bedrooms.  Selecting the style and color palette for those rooms are determined with who is using the room and what that person wants or needs.  As a designer, I always want the homeowner or family member who uses that space to feel comfortable and relaxed in their bedroom.  Typically we see queen beds in guest bedrooms, but there is something to be said for using twin beds in a room.

So why choose twin beds in a space?  The obvious is they are a great option for multi-use guest rooms--the ability to sleep two people that do not want to share a bed.  Also, because of their size they fit well in small spaces without taking up too much room.  We generally see twin beds in kids rooms or vacation homes.  For children's rooms, they are perfect because of a child's size and offer a separate bed for their friend  to sleepover.

Sometimes people think that when designing a bedroom with twin beds it can be childish or not necessarily that elegant, but that is just not the case.  There are so many gorgeous twin bed designs that you can have a room as casual as you want or as elegant.
