PAINTED FRONT DOOR

I mentioned last week that I recently painted my front door. It really is amazing how much this enhanced the look of the exterior look of my home. Plus it feels like a statement of individuality in a cookie-cutter style neighborhood, which is nice.

The color I chose here is Behr Premium Plus Ultra in Cranberry UL100-4. This color really managed to make the grey of my exterior paint "pop" to life. The berry hue is a color I know I'll be happy with year-round. Bright and cheery in the spring and summer, then rich and festive for the holidays in fall and winter.

 

My front door is aluminum (or metal, I'm not exactly sure), so before I began to paint I used a latex primer called Gripper made by Glidden, which was  recommended by the Home Depot. Then I used a sponge roller to paint a total of 4 coats on the door, (those pesky red tones can be such a hassle).
