Make Your Own Menorah

Hanukkah, Chanukah or Thanksgivukkah – no matter what you are calling it this year, there are some great crafts involved. In-between making the green bean casserole and sprinkling marshmallows in the sweet potatoes bust out the glitter and the glue. Here are a couple of crafty menorahs that will take less time to make than it will for your turkey to bake.

As the editor in chief of Kids Crafts 1-2-3 magazine, I am partial to this baby food jar menorah by Malia of Yesterday on Tuesday. I also have a soft spot for any craft project that uses recycled materials. Malia has oodles of other Hanukkah projects on her blog for kids and adults alike.

Washi tape may be the best craft invention since glue. Sure, tape has been around for ages, but colorful tape that you craft with is a relatively new phenomenon. Julie from Creekside Learning whipped up this colorful tape menorah with her daughter in under 10 minutes. Quick and easy, and the best part is that there is no mess to clean up.
