Knitting Round & Round Until It Becomes a Hat

In the last couple of weeks I  have started a couple of knitting projects, but have not gotten very far.  I have a pair of socks and an afghan sitting on the needles.  I think I will frog the afghan.  I'm not sure about the marigold socks.

Tonight I started a hat.  I downloaded the free pattern from Ravelry.  The pattern is "The Rikke Hat" by Sarah Young.  The pattern instructions call for a "German Twist Cast-On".  I had to search on YouTube for instructions on that method.  I used the Knit Witch's instructions found here.

It took me quite a while to get the hang of the cast on.  I love that there are instructional videos for this stuff.  It's more effective for me to watch an instructional video rather than trying to figure out a diagram or still photos.

I recorded my project in my Ravlery library.  I hope to finish it by tomorrow.

As I began to knit around and around I soon became soothed by the repititive motion.

I miss my knitting.  It has been a steady companion and has helped me through some very hard times.

                                              My goal.

I have created a page for Anna's Diary.  It can be found here.

I have posted all of the entries to date there, starting with January 1, 1929.

Here is today's entry form Anna's Diary:

Wed. May 7, 1929

Club met at Jule L's. We had a lovely time.  Her sister-in-law Marie came in. Belleville club met at night.  Won first prize.  Pair surtan pearl necklace.  [I couldn't find any information on what type of pearl necklace Anna wrote about.]
