My local quilt shop has been hosting retreat days called "Fabulous Fridays"- where the shop is open for 12 hours. For a modest fee, you reserve a space and get dinner.
In case you haven't guessed yet, there was one yesterday. (And I attended). I was determined to come home with at least one finished product.
I finished my Wee Wander firefly quilt top.
I nearly finished by "Jewels in the Curio" top. I left one of the 4 middle border pieces at home, so I hit a stopping point.
Hopefully there is a picture/link to the (mostly done) top. Image is mine, taken from my Pinterest post.
In addition to those two projects, my mother (a sewist as well) asked me to make her a curling iron cover for when we travel to Ireland next month. I obliged, and proceeded to pick out the most 'Vera Bradley' like fabric on sale at the fabric store. She really likes Vera.
I cheated on the project, mainly because I don't have any insulated batting. Considering the modest number of projects that I've considered use it, I should really invest in some. Add it to my wish list, which includes some Riley Blake laminate, and the whole line of Kona solid precuts, so I can use them for all of my projects when I need them.
I have also reaffirmed to myself that I have no quilting ability for anything but stippling/meadering. I also cannot draw. CANNOT. I really want a longarm machine, but I'd pretty much need to buy the automatic software just to satisfy my (moderate) perfectionist.
That's my update for now.
By the way, do my pictures on my previous posts show up, and does this link appear with a picture, or just as a link?
