One of my nieces is having a baby boy soon and of course I had to carry on my baby blanket tradition. I wanted to make her a blanket that I haven't made before and since ripple blankets are all the rage right now I decided to try my hand at one. I've never made a ripple blanket before and I didn't know where to start. I have my wonderful crochet books that teach you all of these wonderful stitches but after an hour of digging through them, I either didn't find a ripple pattern or the pattern was just so confusing and difficult to follow. I finally found this amazing tutorial by Lucy at Attic24. She breaks the ripple pattern down for you in such a way that it was easy to understand and she gives lots of great photos of each step. Since Lucy provides the basics on how to do a ripple, I will just share what yarn I used and how I modified her pattern to get this gorgeous blanket.
Easy Ripple Blanket
- Size K crochet hook
- 2 skeins each of your favorite worsted weight or Aran weight yarn in 3 colors (I used Lion Brand Cotton Ease in Turquoise, Terracotta, and Lime - 6 skeins in total)
- Tapestry needle, for weaving ends
