In many of our new construction homes, homeowners are wanting a designated bar area, a butler's bar.  Clients and homeowners are using these butler's bars, otherwise known as butler's pantry, for actual bar libations and/or for extra storage.

Butler's bars are generally directly adjacent or close to the kitchen, and there is no typical size.  They can range from as small as 24-inch to 36-inch space to an actual small room.  Butler's bars offer extra storage as well as another entertainment space. They are designed from formal to contemporary and casual.

When designing your butler's bar, there are many things to consider.  The first consideration would be, what the space will be used for.  Once you have decided how you will use the space, the actual design process can begin.  For some, a butler's bar is purely a bar and storage for libation necessities, and for others, it is used as extra storage for extra dishes/glasses, etc.  How would you use your butler's bar?
