3 Simple Tips for Better Pet Photography

For many of us, pets become much more than just pets. They are companions, exercise partners, therapists, fur babies, etc. There are those who just want to share pictures of their pets with their friends and family. For others, photographing their pets becomes a valuable source of income. Here are three simple tips to help you improve your pet photography.

  1. Find the light. Go outside and play with your fur friend, use window light, or experiment with available light (lamps, flashlights, smartphones, flashes, etc).
  2. Get low. Bend, kneel, lie, sit, get closer to them to gain better perspective.
  3. Be calm. Pets will respond to your behavior. It may take a while for the more energetic ones to slow down. Be patient, and try to get some good action shots of them in the meantime.
