Who Am I?

Seven months ago, if you would have said to me that I would be 70 lbs. lighter, I would have thought you were crazy.  If you would have said that I would want to eat healthy and exercise, I would have thought you were insane.  Well, seven months later, here I am at 70 lbs. lost and exercise in some way every day.  I cannot go a day without some sort of exercise.  I attempt to get into the gym as it is hot where I live (Las Vegas) at least two to three times a week.  As to the eating, I eat healthy food but it is real food.  I can eat whatever I want to eat, I just watch the portion size.  I have a healthy salad daily, if not twice a day, and I eat fruit every day.  I do not count calories and I do not have a cheat day.  The most important thing I can say is that this is truly a healthy lifestyle.  There are some foods, not very many mind you, that I will not eat but that is because they are too high in calories to give me a level of satisfaction that I would like.  The biggest challenge for me has been learning MODERATION.  Such a dirty little word for most of us who like to eat, but for me it truly has been learning to eat in moderation.  What moderation means to me is having a sweet treat like ice cream and cake once a month as opposed to every day.  I like to have fruit now to satisfy my sweet tooth.  If this tells you anything, when I first started eating healthy, I lost 20 lbs by just eating the recommended portions of food and cleaning my house for exercise.  I used to eat A LOT OF FOOD.   I do not have a goal amount to lose, however, I need to lose 110 lbs. in order to be in the healthy body fat range for my height.  This is the most important part for me, is to have a healthy body fat percentage as opposed to a scale weight.  So, come along on this journey with me.  If I can help you in any way, just let me know.
