One day down.
One day back on the wagon of watching the number of calories entering my body.
One day down of drinking 64 ounces of water.
It's good to be back to the routine, but there are plenty of things vying for my mouth. There's the Choboni strawberry yogurt asking for me. There are tortilla chips. There is cheese. There is the chocolate and caramel santa somebody sent in the mail. I brewed more coffee.
I weighed myself. I'm looking for something telling me I'm on the right path. It's a bit goofy. I know I'm on the right path and I know there isn't much that's going to happen right away. Well, that's not true. I know that I should probably drop some of the bloated water weight by Monday as things clear through my system. I'm hoping for a nice little drop in number on the scale, but even if it doesn't happen, I plan to stick with things.
It's all about this stupid word called consistency. blech.
For day two, I exercised. I put the disk in the computer last night so it would be easier to get going today. I didn't get off my rear and do it till eleven in the morning, but I did do it. My son suggested I start with Jillian's Level One after I mentioned I haven't exercised in forever. It was a good suggestion.
While I did my jumping jacks and push ups and leg thingamajigs, my kids turned their heads back and forth watching Jillian and watching me. I think it's good for them to see their mom exercising. It certainly makes me feel like I need to act a bit more sportly than I feel. After I completed my DVD, they asked to do Kid's Yoga which they then did while I showered. Good family stuff.
But let me tell you....That Jillian Level One is no easy piece of cake like it once was. My legs were jiggly afterwards and I did a pretty stellarly lousy job on the lunges. The good things were that the jumping jacks were a piece of cake and I was able to do ten push ups (not going all the way down though) before doing push ups from my knees.
I think back to a year ago when I first started Jillian and how hard it was. I'm glad I still have the DVD. I like that it's only 20 minutes because I'm willing to stick with it and it doesn't interrupt my day. I also keenly remember how I thought it helped me develop endurance and strength in a number of ways that I appreciated when I began jogging or doing yoga.
