Living a healthy, active lifestyle is very important to me and I strive to eat well and exercise regularly. It is my hope that by sharing my fitness plans and healthy recipes that you will be inspired to live your healthiest lifestyle.
There was a time when fitness wasn’t important to me. It almost didn’t “need” to be. I was young and thin and could eat whatever I wanted. That all started to change mid-twenties. I began to notice that my clothes were getting tighter; I was less active.
My wakeup call came when I was 30 pounds heavier and unhappy. I knew that feeling good and looking good went hand in hand and that I needed to make a change. That meant the following:
- A serious cut back on sugars, fried foods, and alcoholic beverages;
- It required a serious commitment to physical activity.
When I started working out, I knew it was going to be tough. Putting weight on means eating whatever you want and lots of sleeping and relaxing! But I was up for the challenge. :)
Fit for Life
That was six years ago. Since that time, I have been maintaining healthy habits by trying new workouts and filling my body with healthy, wholesome fuel.
My goal has never been to be a rock hard and sinewy, skinny person—it has been to be fit, strong and healthy. That doesn’t mean I need to be a size 2. I never will be, and I am ok with that. For me, it’s about living the longest, best life possible and feeling good doing it.
