Life without dessert for me is like a home without a pet. I can survive, but I always feel as if something's missing from my day. So I've been trying different options that fit into my low carb diet plan. After some highs (ooooh, sugar-free chocolate!) and lows (ick, chocolate dip that tastes and looks like library paste), these are the winners:
- Dixie Diner has a variety of delicious cookies, some with just two net carbohydrates. They're sugar-free and ooooh so delicious. Example: Dixie Carb Counters Island Lime Everyday Gourmet Good Cookie. But our personal "I can't believe it's low-carb and doesn't have sugar" winner is Carb Counters Ready-to-eat Sugar Not Cookies, Powdered. They have two net carbs and they're sugar-free, of course. We can sum it up as "YUM!"
- Chocolate cheer comes from Quest bars in the form of Quest Bar Protein Bar, Chocolate Brownie flavor. They're indecently delicious and decadent, and made with natural zero-calorie sweeteners.
- Pancakes on a low carb diet? Yes, with Big Train Low Carb Buttermilk Pancake & Waffle Mix.
- And for pancake flavor without the carbs OR the calories, try Walden Farms Calorie Free Pancake Syrup. It's great mixed with plain sour cream and frozen for a scrumptious dessert or try mixing with Greek yogurt.
