Welcome to the first Mom's in Boyland blog! I started this to document my quest for conceiving a child that does not have a penis, namely a beautiful baby girl. Let me give you some background. I'm 28 years old and have been with my wonderful husband , Brian, for 5 1/2 years. Together we have two wonderful boys; Bryson who will be 4 in January, and Tyler who will be 11 in January. I had Tyler when I was 17 with my high school boyfriend, Tom. Tyler spends alot of time with his father, but Brian is his day-to-day Dad. Along with the hubby, and two sons I also have a cutie patootie male Cocker Spaniel named Prince Shamma-Lamma-Ding-Dong (aka Shammy).
So I must first say I LOVE my boys! They are the sweetest, most loving, and smart kids I have ever met. Now that being said they are also the most disgusting, foul, and dirty, children I could have ever asked for. Don't get me wrong I am by no means a clean freak or super girlie-girl, but living with 4 boys (including Shammy) is one of the most challenging things I have ever done. Simple things like closing cabinets after opening them, peeing in the toilet, not around it, and keeping bodily odors to a minimum have become my daily reminder that I am surrounded. What I wouldn't give for one day minus fart jokes, tripping over balls of assorted sizes, and cleaning up snot, chocolate milk, and permanent marker on my leather couch (thank you Bryson).
I told Brian, because I had started on this mom journey at an early age, if he wanted another kid it would have to be before my 30th birthday. Not to say 30 is super old, I just don't want to be changing diapers while Tyler is in college. I'll be raising kids my entire life at that rate, and I am no Michelle Duggar. My only concern was how in the world I was going to accomplish being 0-3 in the girl department. Let me explain that one of the best parts of my life has been sharing mother-daughter experiences with my own mom. I would be lost without her constant love, support, and words of wisdom. Not to mention the shopping and dinner dates. I love my momma, and I so want the same kind of relationship with a daughter of my own.
Now with technology being what it is today I could spend thousands of dollars in medical procedures, cell manipulation, while being poked and prodded like a guinea pig. Since I am firm believer in creating a child in the most natural way possible, I have decided to pursue every non-invasive way to get those little girl sperm to knock me up. I hope through sharing my research, thoughts, rants, and stories on this very special quest other women see that we all live in Boyland. Whether you have sons of your own, a husband, brother, father, or male boss you know the trials, tribulations, and testosterone that comes with them. Come along with this mom through Boyland.
