In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Coconut Head's Cancer Survival Guide has up a beautiful post about the 48 hours between getting her cancer diagnosis and her marriage proposal. Her engagement was anything was ordinary, and she mixes wedding planning with cancer treatment, the overriding message being: life has to go on.
Most newly engaged women jump right into wedding planning. After all, who hasn’t been keeping a three-inch binder/idea book of wedding dresses and ideas since we were six years old! This binder, however, was filled with test results, blood work, and treatment options. Most newly engaged women shop for a wedding dress. I shopped for a wig since I would be bald on my wedding day.
One of the best moments of the author's life mixed with one of the worst, teaching her a valuable lesson about marriage before it even began. I challenge you to read Coconut Head's Cancer Survival Guide's post in full with dry eyes about the eight words that changed her life.
