I've been searching for more recipes that are really tasty, highly nutritious and easy to make.  I stumbled upon  a chocolate smoothie from Dr. Fuhrman's book, "Eat for Health".  It sounded pretty good and figured I'd like it.  What I didn't expect was my husband to not only like it but request it the very next night for a dessert.

Chocolate Smoothie (2 servings)

5 oz organic baby spinach ( I use frozen, but it doesn't matter.)

2 c frozen blueberries

1/2 c soy milk (or milk of your choice)

1 medium banana

2 medjool dates or 4 deglet noor dates (I've never tried deglet noor dates but just noticed our local grocery store carries them.  Don't use the regular dates.)

2 T cocoa powder ( I actually used cacao powder.)

1 T ground flax seeds

I needed extra water for this.  Blend it all together in a blender until smooth and creamy.  Make sure to make this very sneakily so no one sees the spinach!  Feel free to add more cocoa and/or dates to make it more chocolatey or sweeter.  You can also freeze it for a frozen treat.  Enjoy and Shhhh!
