Go Big or Go Home :)

So my theory about working out is as simple as the title: Go Big or Go Home.

Now, I'm not saying push yourself so hard that you end up injured. Don't do that. That's a bad idea.

What I am saying is push yourself outside of your comfort zone. (Disclaimer: I'm too young (& a broke college student) to be liable for anything so check with your physician before attempting anything.) :) :)

Anyways, today in zumba was ROUGH. I mean that in the best way possible. Our instructor was pushing us to the limit with all kinds of crazy things incorporated into the dances (i.e mountainclimbers, jumping jacks, squats, lunges, etc etc.) As all of this was going on some girl just gave up. She sat in the corner. The girl to my left just stood there the entire time, literally doing that lame step-toe thing that people do at middle school dances.

If you don't wanna be worked out, don't come to class. When I'm drenched in sweat with every muscle group burning it probably means you're doing something wrong if you're not. Obviously some people have more abilities than others but you should still try your hardest.

My guess is that if you're at the gym it's to get healthy and/or lose weight. News flash: you're not going to get healthy and/or lose weight by just standing around.

I used to go to the gym and give up after a few minutes of cardio. I'd do one set with only 10 reps instead of 3 sets with 12 or 15 reps. It takes time but you've got to build up the endurance and strength to get through it.

It's definitely worth it in the end.
