Double Serving at Lunch!

Oh my what was I thinking. I ate my lunch of ground moose meat, red cabbage and melted cheese on bread and then went and dished up a second helping.  I recognize that it doesn't sound particularly good, but it was.  It was warm and savory and filling and I totally and completely knew that I was technically full after the first serving, but I wasn't wanting to be done with it.  So now I have a very full belly and will have to be very careful tonight.

I was not careful last night.  In face I was a little over zealous.  I ate multiple cookies and tortilla chips and chili with non necessary cheese and some tasty little fried spinach things.  I probably ate more.  I certainly did not feel as if I was undereating!

But I did have fun at the election night party visiting with others.  And I loved having my kids there late into the night.  And I loved the walk home under the dark chilly sky.

And today, still very appreciative of so many big things,  I also appreciate my boring morning oatmeal routine that keeps a third of my day balanced.

I did not go to the gym, however.  My husband had to leave town and that meant I had to stay home with the kids.  I didn't even realize that till quite late in the day.  Because we stayed up late last night and we're fighting another cold, I'm glad I woke up without an alarm.  I have plans - cough cough - of doing a pilates dvd sometime today.  Just when?!  It's so unappealing to go from my normal bodily positions to one lying down on the floor.

I had this fun secret plan to do pilates for two weeks straight because the woman in my dvd says, "Joseph Pilates says, 'In one week, you will feel better.  In two weeks, you will look better.  And in three weeks, you will have a whole new body!'"

She says it in a very chipper voice.

I've never made it past three days in a row.

I've owned the DVD for years.

I like how I feel after I do this 20 minute beginning routine.  And yet, I just don't do it.  Kinda like the dishes that I resolutely didn't do yesterday.

To an afternoon of staying a bit more on track.  I could use a bit of this refocus since I've been wobbling a bit on my balance beam.
