1. Sea fish:

Sea fish like Salmon is a very good ketogenic food. Though the sea fish like salmon, sardines, mackerel, etc. are very rich in Vitamin B, potassium and selenium, but are actually free from the carb. These fish have omega-3 fats but it will help you to level insulin. It also improves mental health.

2. Low carb vegetables:

Non-starchy vegetables like beets, broccoli, cabbage, bamboo shoot, cauliflower, etc. have low calories and carbs. They are rich in nutrients and they have high Vitamin C and several minerals. In a cup of non-starchy vegetable juice, hardly 1- 8 grams of carb is present. So you can easily consume non-starchy food while on a ketogenic diet.

Many persons like cheese due to its delicious taste. Cheese is high in nutrients and low in carbs. They have high saturated fats, proteins, calcium and fatty acid. Thus, cheese is a very good ketogenic diet.

4. Avocado:

Avocados are a very good ketogenic food. Avocados are rich in minerals and vitamins but less in carbs. In 100 gm of avocado, only 2 gm of carb is present but it is high in the nutrient. It also helps in reducing cardiovascular disease. In addition, it also helps in improving the level of cholesterol and triglyceride level. It also helps in reducing Low-Density Lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol level and increasing High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol level.

5. Meat and poultry:

Meat and poultry are very rich in Vitamin B, minerals, potassium, selenium, zinc, protein, etc. but they are very low in carb. Thus grass-fed meat is very healthy and is an ideal ketogenic diet. It was found that consuming a diet with high fatty meat raise the level of High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol level which is almost 8% higher than consuming a diet with low fat and high carb.

6. Eggs:

Eggs are very beneficial for health. It helps in many diseases. A single egg contains 1 gm of carb and 6 gm of proteins. Thus eggs are ideal ketogenic food. Eggs have many benefits such as it helps in keeping the level of blood sugar stable. It has low calorie and high protein. But you should take the entire egg as the yolk of the egg contains most of the nutrients. These nutrients include lutein and zeaxanthin which are very beneficial for our eyes. It is true that the yolk of the egg contains high cholesterol but it is seen that it does not raise the blood cholesterol level in most of the people. Eggs also reduce the risk of heart disease.
