Tangy Citrus Smoothie

This afternoon I really was feeling like my body needed a bit of an awakening. I just wasn’t feeling super energized and knew that a fresh citrus smoothie loaded with vitamin c would give me the boost I needed, much more so than any cup of coffee would. Since I luckily have the option of working from home on Friday’s I made my way over to our trusty Vitamix and got to work on my afternoon pick me up.

Now this smoothie is definitely tangy and has a good amount of grapefruit flavor going for it. So if you aren’t a grapefruit fan I would leave out the grapefruit and instead throw in some fresh mango or even a banana.

Tangy Citrus Smoothie

Ingredients: Half of a fresh grapefruit (peeled), 2 fresh oranges (peeled), 1.5 cups of diced fresh pineapple, Optional: 1 tablespoon of Truvia

Directions: Throw everything into the vitamix or blender and blend away.

This smoothie will turn out to be more like a frothy juice, than a super thick smoothie. Enjoy the natural vitamin c energy boost and drink up!
