Every year that I can remember, my dad had banana pudding for his birthday. So, this recipe is a very special part of my childhood and deserves a special spot in the family cookbook I'm making.
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup of milk or water
1 cup of whipped cream
1 3 oz. box of vanilla pudding mix
Vanilla Wafers (about 36)
3 bananas, sliced
Lemon juice to coat the banana slices
Mix the sweetened condensed milk, milk or water, and pudding mix. Refrigerate for mixture 5 minutes. Meanwhile, make whipped cream (mix heavy whipping cream and a little sugar at very high speed until soft peaks form). Fold whipped cream into pudding mixture.
Pour 1/3 of pudding mixture into a serving bowl. Place banana slices and vanilla wafers on top of the mixture:
Cover with more pudding mixture, and repeat process, ending with pudding mixture. I also had some extra whipped cream, so I put that on top too. Refrigerate thoroughly before serving.
