A soft, chocolaty crackle cookie, packed full of melty M&M candies.
We drove down to North Carolina for a day trip this past weekend. I was finally able to see the majority of my family!
My lovely grandma was kind enough to let us use her house for the gathering. She’s a brave soul. When my family gets together we become one giant herd of rowdy animals. It’s madness!
There were lots of tears being shed from severe laughter. My abs and cheeks got the best work out!
My family is crazy; maybe even an acquired taste, but I wouldn’t trade them for anything.
So for this family cookout, we were all required to bring a dish of some sort. I decided to bring cookies. It is a three hour drive there and cookies were the only reasonable option. I made 4 dozen M&M Chocolate Crackle Cookies….
There wasn’t a single cookie left!
Everyone went nuts over these soft fudgy cookies. My great uncle actually ate a whole plate of them! Others were stuffing zip top bags with cookies to take home to enjoy later.
These cookies are quite easy to make. I actually think I may have a favorite basic chocolate cookie recipe now.
The dough is brought together with typical cookie components like flour, butter, egg, leavener, sugar, and baking chocolate.
You must chill this dough! The dough so sticky, you will be unable to roll it out if it isn’t chilled. The longer you chill the dough, the better. It will become less sticky. It is best to chill it for at least 2 hours.
